Santa Monica High School, part of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, is located on a prominent elevated site in downtown Santa Monica with commanding views of the Pacific Ocean. Much of the existing campus was built over 60 years ago with some buildings dating back to the early 1900's. In 2007 the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District began a process to modernize the campus, the most recent project being the completion of the Innovation Building in 2015 designed by R. L. Binder FAIA Architects, LLP (retired, CY team members worked on project while at RLB). CY architects is provided Master Planning and Function Space Programming for the phased development of the constrained 26 acre site to create a model campus for over 3,000 students. In addition, CY architects also completed a complete Utility Study for the campus including an OSP audit of the data and LV infrastructure. Currently we are providing competes services for HVAC and interior updates for 9 buildings, baseball and softball fields, basketball courts, tennis court, and a new Grounds and Maintenance Building. Project is in construction with completion expected Fall 2019.
